About Us

Alderbay Home is an online store for stretched canvas prints — quiet landscapes and simple geometric compositions, made to order in the United States and sized for the walls people actually live with.

The shop

Alderbay Home sells one thing done carefully rather than many things done loosely. Every piece in the catalog is a stretched canvas print in a portrait format, drawn from two families of artwork — coastal and woodland landscapes on one side, restrained geometric shapes on the other. The palette across the whole range stays calm on purpose, so a print from the Shoreline collection can hang in the same room as one from Slate without arguing with it.

Most orders here are gifts. A canvas that arrives ready to hang works well for housewarmings and weddings for a plain reason. It needs no framing trip, no hardware run, no decisions from the person receiving it. Out of the box, onto the wall.

Selection criteria

Artwork makes it into the catalog when it clears three tests. It has to read clearly from across a room, since wall art is seen at a distance far more often than up close. It has to sit within the store’s palette, because a piece that fights the rest of a home rarely stays on the wall. And it has to hold up at all three sizes we offer, from a shelf-level 12 × 16 up to a 24 × 32 that anchors a sofa wall. Artwork that only works at one size doesn’t go in.

Production

Each canvas is produced after the order is placed, by a production partner in the United States, and ships from within the country. The print surface is a cotton and polyester composite canvas with a matte coating, stretched over a radiata pine frame 1.25 inches deep. A hanger comes installed on the back, with rubber bumpers on the two lower corners to keep the frame level and off the paint.

Printing to order means nothing sits in a warehouse aging, and it is also why processing takes 3-5 business days before a parcel moves — the print is being made, not picked from a shelf.

When something goes wrong

Orders don’t always arrive perfectly, and the policies here assume that. A print damaged in transit can be reported within 14 days of delivery for a replacement. A print that simply doesn’t suit the room can go back within 90 days, with a prepaid return label and no restocking fee. The full details live in the Return & Refund Policy, and ⟨EMAIL — SET BEFORE GO-LIVE⟩ reaches a person who can start either process.

Questions about the shop, a particular print, or an order already placed can go to ⟨EMAIL — SET BEFORE GO-LIVE⟩. A reply usually arrives within 1-2 business days.
