FAQ
The questions below cover the practical side of ordering from Alderbay Home — timelines, shipping, returns, what the canvas is made of, and how payment is handled.
Each canvas is printed after the order is placed, so processing takes 3-5 business days before the parcel ships. Orders placed after 5:00 PM Eastern Time count from the next business day.
An order can be changed or cancelled within 4 hours of being placed, or until production starts, whichever comes first. After that the print is already being made. The Modify & Cancellation Policy has the details, including what happens past the deadline.
Shipping is free on every order to a US address. There is no minimum order amount and no separate handling fee — the price on the product page is the price at checkout, plus any applicable sales tax.
Door-to-door, delivery takes 6-10 business days in total: 3-5 business days of production followed by 3-5 business days in transit.
Orders ship to United States only. Because a framed canvas travels as a rigid parcel, delivery requires a street address — PO boxes and APO/FPO addresses cannot be served, and there is no international shipping at this time.
A tracking number arrives by email the day the print leaves the production facility. The first carrier scan can take 24-48 hours to appear, so a tracking page that looks empty on day one is normal.
A print can be returned within 90 days of the delivery date, in its original condition and with the original protective packaging. Keeping the box during the decision period makes this simple.
We send a prepaid return label, so return shipping costs nothing. We also don’t charge a restocking fee — the refund is the full amount paid for the item.
Return requests are reviewed within 2-3 business days. Once the returned print arrives and passes inspection, the refund goes back to the original payment method within 7-10 business days.
A print that arrives with a dented frame, a torn face, or the wrong artwork should be reported within 14 days of delivery, with photos of the print and the box. A replacement goes into production, and the damaged copy usually does not need to be shipped back.
The print surface is a cotton and polyester composite canvas with a matte coating, stretched over a radiata pine frame 1.25 inches deep. It is not paper mounted on board — the image is printed directly on the canvas before stretching.
A hanger comes installed on the back of every size, with rubber bumpers on the two bottom corners. One nail or picture hook in the wall is all the installation there is.
Screens emit light; matte canvas reflects it. The printed result reads slightly softer and less luminous than the same image on a backlit display. Small variance between screen and print is inherent to the medium — a print that differs drastically from its listing is a different matter and is covered by the return policy.
Checkout runs through PayPal. That covers PayPal balances and, through the same secure checkout, standard credit and debit cards — no PayPal account is required to pay by card. All prices are in USD.
The payment method is charged when the order is placed, not when it ships. If a payment fails, no order is created and nothing is charged.
